What is the perfect recipe for a ham and bean soup?
I have some leftover ham from Christmas and I wanted to make a ham and soup beans. Any good recipes? Thank you!
Hambone only cover with boiling water and turn on the stove. You can use beans or peas. The Beans are best if you soak overnight before making the soup. Split peas peas just dump straight into the boiling water and cook about 1 to 2:00. He said you usually onion and carrot, and also add the bay leaf. If it is not large enough, add a metal cube (chicken or pork bullion works well, do not add the broth!) just cook until beans are tender. This is awesome! Use a bit of black pepper before serving, sprinkle on top. You can also use canned beans, but do know as well as from scratch with beans. It becomes a kind of metallic taste.
