Slow Cooker Cooking – How to convert Cooker Recipes

Have you ever been hungry for something special … perhaps a roast or ham, example … and then discovered that simply do not have time to cook? Unless you have a specific recipe for the crock pot, people do not even think use. In fact, many recipes for heating or hot water can be adapted to the crock pot with delicious results.

Ingredients: * 2 tablespoons butter * 1 1 / 2 to 2 cups chopped onion 1 cup chopped celery * 2 large carrots, peeled and chopped * 3 cups diced ham 2 about £ 1 * * 1 clove garlic 2 cups vegetable broth 1 cup water 4 to 5 cups peeled potatoes cut into cubes and cut into cubes 1 cup heavy cream * 3 tablespoons flour 1 cup All Purpose half-half or whole milk, more if needed Salt * Thin and pepper to taste 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, onions, sliced green * optional, for garnish, optional * cheddar cheese or cheese Cheddar-Jack mix, for garnish, optional Preparation: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add vegetable broth and potatoes and water, cover and cook for about 25 minutes, until potatoes are tender. Whisk flour in the cream until smooth, stirring the mixture to warm. Add half and half or milk. Taste and add salt and pepper, as you want. Mash slightly to thicken and add more milk if necessary. Serve decorated with parsley, sliced green onions or grated cheese. Makes 6 servings.
